Studying

What is studying and why is studying so important? What exactly does studying do for our brains. What are effective ways of studying? My interpretation of studying is reinitializing information enough to were your brain has the capability to spit it back out. It is important to study not only to pass test and classes but in life when you have a big job presentation or need to remember information. Most think studying works the brain to hard or just tires the brain out which is not the case at all. Studying is good for the brain because it makes it work, which can be compared to making your body work during exercise. Most people think that studying only helps memorize things for short amounts of time. While actually for those who use the right study tactics it helps you to memorize things for long periods of time if not forever. As for me studying was not very important in high school because the information was simple. In college however you interpret things in more detail and you are required to memorize large amounts of information. Effective ways of studying would be different due to the many different ways people learn. People who learn by seeing better than listening might do things like making flash cards or making study tools to help their brain. While those who learn better from listening rather than seeing would repeat the information over and over or just watch some videos. Also working in concentrated study groups can be helpful because you get different ways from others on how to understand a certain topic or even just ask questions of the things you don’t know. One of the biggest problems with study groups would be that most of the people you study with would be friends which can end in some if not all losing concentration. Studying is a way of life for some and it is a huge waste of time for others in a class setting you have some that believe that studying makes them do worse while others believe in studying like it’s in the bible.
