GIve Freedom but HOW MUCH?

How much should freedom of speech be protected? In the North the hanging of a Confederate flag seem to cause more attention than the hanging of the very same flag in the south. Coming from Jasper County the Confederate flag is see just as much as the American flag. Someone hanging this flag is their way of expressing themselves and even if an issue were to arise from this it would not change the way this person felt. The only change that would possibly happen is just where this person decided to hang their flags. The articles is for protecting freedom of speech so I agree with the article, but this also means that those who are against this one individual who has this flag have the right to express just how much they do towards the individual.  The main problem with freedom of speech is controlling just how much should be said or done. With race still being as such a hot topic as it is today I believe that this individual with the flag should express the way he feels with the flag inside his home rather than where the public can see it. So freedom of speech should be protected just to a certain extent.

Spanish in 1st grade

Why is Spanish not taught in all school at younger ages? Wouldn’t it help embrace this counties most diversity? Couldn’t it make it easier for Americans to learn it at a younger age rather than an older one?

The other weekend I went home for the weekend to visit my family, while sitting on the sofa my little brother came up and told me he was taking Spanish this year. Due to him only being five I was not paying him any attention until my dad confirmed that he was actually not playing. As I sat there I was thinking about how much of a good idea it would be to teach Spanish to kids at such a young age. I also was wondering why it wasn’t being taught at all schools instead of just that one. If it was it would be way easier to learn because being only five you would not have as much background on the English Language. Most would think that speaking Spanish is not that important even though it will be in the future due to the growing influence on the Hispanic culture. Speaking Spanish would also enable the ability of all kids being able to be proficient in Spanish and English creating less separation between the American cultures and the Hispanic cultures. Being able to speak this language would not only help just give directions or help give information, but it would make regular life easier for the immigrated Hispanic citizens to have as much equal opportunities as those Americans who already speak English and are proficient. Learning the Spanish language at a young age would also make learning the structure of both languages much easier through comparing them and contrasting. As the country grows it gets more diverse and the ability for all Americans to change and be diverse along with the country would separate our great country even more from other countries on the globe. Conquering the challenge of having two languages under your belt will be a great accomplishment and would give the skill of being to help other fellow Americans in everyday life. So I would encourage all schools to join the movement to push the diversity of America in a positive direction.

Sodas

Why sodas are bad for the human body. Some would respond what is not good for the body, seeing that people are suing Oreos, and McDonalds. Not many people may know this but sodas are very bad for their health. They literally take minutes and even years off the lives of humans every day. Just read the ingredients and look them up and see what they are also in. if you are out of cleaning supplies just use coke. They have many affects due to the ingredients they contain. Some like taking the teeth out of your mouth due to the mix of sugar and acids takes off the enamel and weakens your teeth. It also causes kidney stones which result in your urine burning. Kidney stones are created by the changing of your urine due to the things inside the sodas. The stones are literally stones and can be the size of golf balls. Also you would wither want to lay off the sodas or the cookies because with both you are definite for diabetes. Sodas have more sugars in them than cookies and cause diabetes faster. Other serious health problems are caused by the high acid levels cause heart burn which can lead to other heart defects. Also sodas raise your blood pressure which is also very bad for your heart. More random facts are that you could possibly go to jail in some countries because sodas contain a type of vegetable oil that is illegal in 100 countries. A more common fact is that sodas are one of the more fattening drinks that Americans consume daily. The fat comes from the carbonated water building gas inside the body and the amount of calories in each soda. Even though sodas are not the worst drink for the body they come close and don’t have really any health benefits besides the relaxing feeling of a fart that has been held in all day due to you being around your new girlfriend. So the next time u get thirsty you should consider juice over a soda just to give you a few more moments of life.

Studying

What is studying and why is studying so important? What exactly does studying do for our brains. What are effective ways of studying? My interpretation of studying is reinitializing information enough to were your brain has the capability to spit it back out. It is important to study not only to pass test and classes but in life when you have a big job presentation or need to remember information. Most think studying works the brain to hard or just tires the brain out which is not the case at all. Studying is good for the brain because it makes it work, which can be compared to making your body work during exercise. Most people think that studying only helps memorize things for short amounts of time. While actually for those who use the right study tactics it helps you to memorize things for long periods of time if not forever. As for me studying was not very important in high school because the information was simple. In college however you interpret things in more detail and you are required to memorize large amounts of information. Effective ways of studying would be different due to the many different ways people learn. People who learn by seeing better than listening might do things like making flash cards or making study tools to help their brain. While those who learn better from listening rather than seeing would repeat the information over and over or just watch some videos. Also working in concentrated study groups can be helpful because you get different ways from others on how to understand a certain topic or even just ask questions of the things you don’t know. One of the biggest problems with study groups would be that most of the people you study with would be friends which can end in some if not all losing concentration. Studying is a way of life for some and it is a huge waste of time for others in a class setting you have some that believe that studying makes them do worse while others believe in studying like it’s in the bible.

Bus Ride

How do you feel when you are on the bus surrounded by all these other strangers? Riding the bus could always be an adventure. When you step foot on it you will always see someone new. However the buses at Georgia State University will not have as many different genres of different people as a public transit bus. As you sit down you could be next to a billionaire on one side and a homeless person on the other. To some this can be overwhelming or even scary. You never know what could happen for example the homeless man could pee on you and the billionaire could sue you for sneezing on him. Riding the bus is Magical due to anything being able to happen. The experience is not like anything else in that each bus ride is not like another. Riding a bus in New York is most defiantly different than riding the bus in Georgia. An example would be that the billionaire in New York may shoot you while the homeless man helps you up. Then in Georgia the homeless man would shoot you while the billionaire wouldn’t want to get his new suit dirty. One of the most amazing parts of riding the bus is the different sounds in the front you see the Spanish or Asian people talking while in the middle is the white people looking obviously out of the corner of their eye at the black people while the bus driver farts in the ac vent. Some might say some of my examples are not plausible but not only can these things happen they have happened. However they are not as recent as a man in a suit spilling his coffee or an old man staring at your mom’s butt. The experience on the bus can happen to anyone at any time that’s what makes it such an adventure or even a nightmare for some. Most of the time if you have no other choice you would choose the bus over walking. Not because your lazy but imagine what kind of adventures you would experience while walking.

World without technology

Could you live in a world without technology? Before you answer consider the following statements about living in a world without technology. One of the first types of technology was electricity, without it we would still have lanterns or candles to light the night or our homes. Dating even more into the birth of technology we would see the first toilets being made. Before the toilets the human race was forced to releasing their bodies waste into holes in the ground outhouses. Imagine having to adventure into the darkness at two in the morning to use the bathroom in the outhouse. In today’s society in might not have been so bad due to the street lights or lights from other sources. However these people, our ancestors would be traveling in complete darkness in the rural areas filled with horrifying animals. This is all part of what today would probably look similar to if we still lived in a world without technology. Another scenario would be in taking days weeks or months to travel to the annual family reunion due to their being no sort of motorized vehicles. Flying was not possible and neither was driving all travel was by foot or horse. It taking five minutes to go to grandma’s house up the street would now take twenty or thirty minutes. What else would we be missing, we would not be able to communicate as quickly as today due to their being no computers, cell phones, or not even house phones. The only way to communicate was through mail which due to no motorized vehicles would take forever. A timeframe would be it might take three to four months just to see how life has been for your college roommate. Also there was no google so when you would be sitting around thinking about where babies came from you would have to make the awkward attempt to ask YOUR PARENTS. Something that is even worse would be the fact that there would be no television so you would have to do the most dreadful thing in reading a book. So how would you feel about living in a world without technology?

Rhetorical Analysis on Americans in Suits

What do you associate a man in a suit into being. While walking along the street most Americans would rather be walking next to a man in a suit than a man in rags. The suit has long had a symbiotic effect dating back to the earlier days of Western America. It took on the look of a wealthy man because most of the people who wore this attire were the elite of America. People like the politicians and top businessmen. These men early engraved what the look of class would be. So if any American was to be wondering down the street and a man walking along beside that American had on a suit that American would not speed up their steps as they might would while walking alongside a man wear rags because the suit releases a since of trust. In the country with many businesses a man with a suit creates feelings of inspiration by the sleek attire of businessmen and also an insurance of safety in that close to any American would be almost one hundred percent sure the businessman would not have the intention of robbing someone at least not while wear a suit. The reputation of the suit is one of a man who is either wealthy or one who is classy. The way the individual accessorizes their suit earns respect to that particular person. Like having it cleanly ironed with an almost identical matching bow tie color shows the work put in to ensure his suit fit perfectly. A citizen roaming the heated Atlanta streets with a suit gives the appeal of someone who has a specific duty ahead which would inspire many Americans or present the feeling of that one person being approachable because they would look the part of someone who is trustworthy due mostly to what that person is wearing. The suit of that American walking the street would be convincing his audience of their duty of being of business or having business to handle through the neat attire and clean appeal of the American roaming the streets in a suit.

Facing your fears

Have you ever had to face your fears? I have multiple times throughout my lifetime. Whether, because I wanted to face them or just because I thought it was needed. My first encounter with my fear was with roller coasters. As I grew older I continued to feel forced to ride them just to not seem as if I was a huge cry baby. Over and over my dad would ask if I was alright inside I was crying and outside I was trembling. As each summer came around I would find myself dreading it as for the rest of the kids were celebrating.  I then came to a point in which I no longer wanted to be afraid. Each time after that I would trick my brain into thinking I was eager to aboard the coasters. Then when the rollercoaster started going I would act as I saw everybody else acting, another way in which I was tricking my brain. The process of tricking my brain seem a little far out but I began to notice in doing all of this I was not thinking about being afraid anymore. Along with not being afraid or thinking that I was afraid I noticed that I was actually having fun. Noticing that I could overcome things like this boasted my confidence and helped me tackle my future obstacles. Although facing your fears could be scary in the end they all have something beneficial at their endpoints. For me facing my fears taught me there are many scary things in the world but there is no reason to be afraid. I learned early that is something was going to happen there was not much you were going to be able to do about it. Looking at people around me I see that I faced my fears early and some other people are on the edge of adulthood and have still not faced their fears, even simple ones like being afraid of the dark. So facing your fears in my opinion facing your fears depends directly on that specific person and whether they have the will or ambition to overcome something so crucial in their lifetime.

How can social media be used in more than just for social interations

How can social media be a tool for more uses than just social? When most people think of social media they think of it being used to connect with friends or for “selfies”, but there is many different ways this media can be used. Even though many will say this is not the use that these medias where created for, but they could be used as a learning source or for studying. If someone was to go about studying the current generation of teenagers then looking online at a few of their timelines would show similarities between them even those for different backgrounds. An example of this would be teens from Beverly Hills taking a selfie by the pool, while teens from Harlem take a selfie at a basketball court. However not only teens could be used as a topic of study but different cultures could also. In the African American community you might see someone post they were at a cookout while, a Caucasian community might post about their son having a barmitsfa. In doing all this you would be learning specific patterns within different cultures, or social groups. Also learning opportunities are available to learn about specific people, like Barrack Obama’s page might give info on his life from start to beginning in more detail due to it being his actual life experiences on things he either enjoys or does. Social media has its many uses beyond its regulated uses and most people don’t bother to think outside the box on these things that could be crucial or just helpful in their lifetime. Social media also teaches about changes which is this generation is happening rapidly. Changes on social media could be referred to as new words new music or new problems in society. These problems are sufficient of social media in that things spread or “go viral” when put on social media sites. In this aspect media is portrayed as informational. Other example would be promotions online for things such as parties or store sales. My examples of how social media could be used for more than just for social interaction is only a skim of what all these sources could be used for in everyday life as long as anything else .

Blog
If someone were to write a biography of me using only online sources, what would they find? Well to start literally from the beginning they would find some articles I wrote for the school newsletter. The articles were on the school sports teams during their seasons. The articles demonstrate my dedication to sports and how much I take interest in knowing every aspect of each game. Also it would portray my tolerance with writing. The aspect of me being in the school newspaper would show how I worked in a team. All of these aspects portray me as this dedicated writer with initiative. This is shown by the fact that I met deadlines weekly and sometimes daily. Even though I do not plan on writing sports analysis for my future, this shows my versatility as a person. My sports analysis would also portrait me as a good wrier, eventhough I could be a mediocre writer. My online persona also show some high school football hifhlights. Which follows along with my sports analysis showing my dedication to sports. If someone were to go into depth with my football highlights they would see me communicating with my teamates. As a person who is looking to go into the business industry having an online example of my skill trait of being a leader is expressed variently. The videos show all of my skills within ten to sixty second videos. Skills like hardwork, memorization of the plays as well as my teammates plays , and also teamwork in the fact that all of us were fighting as one for a common cause. Another acquired skill would be my ability to follow directions or a given plan. As I searched my persona I couldn’t find any discrepancys towards myself that could be apparent or even implied. However I am not socially inactive there is still no apparent holes in my character through my online person. One could imply that someone so seemingly perfect would have never had to fight or have never been on the down side of things. Which would not be true and would be very apparent looking at the various mistakes on the field and referring back to my newspaper articles. So if someone were to google or check my social persona they would find a young American who loves sports has various skills, and has a unique lifestyle.
